Mom’s Best Baked Macaroni and Cheese

| |

Is there anything that says American comfort food more than baked macaroni and cheese? All that cheesy pasta goodness — it might not be healthy, but it sure tastes amazing! And this recipe is the best of the best – a delicious oven recipe that starts with uncooked pasta. Just pop it all in the oven and do something else while it bakes!

Start by placing butter in 13×9 pan, and putting the pan in your preheating oven to melt the butter.  While the butter is melting, chop ham if you want to add it for extra goodness.

Pour shell pasta into pan with melted butter and toss to coat.

Spread pasta evenly in pan, and cover with ham.

Cover ham with grated cheese. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper to taste.

Pour milk slowly and evenly across the casserole. The milk should be barely covering the noodles.

Bake at 325*F for 75 minutes, or until milk is absorbed and cheese is toasted. Serve immediately and watch your family smile.
